I'm seeing a different symptom in Karmic 2.6.30-5 #6 ; I see quote a lot of
[67420.586325] ACPI: Transitioning device [FAN0] to D0 [67485.450855] ACPI: Transitioning device [FAN0] to D0 [67508.277048] ACPI: Transitioning device [FAN0] to D0 [67522.125350] ACPI: Transitioning device [FAN0] to D0
in the logs - as you can see they are every few minutes.
I do wonder if this is related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/352762 where my fan doesn't turn on/off unless I do an acpi -t I now have a 'watch acpi -t' running in a terminal in the background.
