Is this command line parameter still in the code (i.e. >= 2.6.20-12)?
I always get:
Unknown boot option `e1000.eeprom_bad_csum_allow=1': ignoring
e1000: 0000:02:00.0: e1000_probe: The EEPROM Checksum Is Not Valid
e1000: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -5
Unfortunately, I can't test it anymore, as I am using now solely WLAN.
I had the chance to test it quickly in Easter holidays, but couldn't get it to work with any kernel other than 2.6.17.
