I also do have the same issue with the same error message in dmesg. I have an Acer Aspire 5572 with the 2.6.15-27-686 kernel

So far the only problem I have with this laptop is the sound where I cannot control volume through gnome but through each application (annoying but not a problem) and speakers volume will not cut if plug my headphone (more annoying)
