btw, I changed my motherboard recently from a Tyan Tiger K8W to a Tiger K8WE.
Now the power-off works.
For information this makes me go from an AMD chipset to a NVidia nForce4, see also Tyan's website to get more precise description of hardware present on the mobo, may be useful.
