The "acpi=force lapic" parameter does not work for me! Things are
getting worse with Ubuntu power-management from release to release!

It is one thing if hibernation does not work but another if the fsck
thing does not shut down anymore.

By the way concerning hibernation I strongly vote for Ubuntu adopting
suspend2 which is know to work on more machines than swsusp.
Additionally, if Ubuntu has any kernel hackers to spare, they should be
assigned to help Nigel (suspend2 maintainer) to get his project ready
for inclusion in the -mm series kernel so it can prove its superiority
and be adopted into the main line kernel soon.

Pavel (swsusp maintainer) does not seem to know what he is doing. I
can't believe that something that worked suddenly stops working in the
next release. What is the guy doing? I can't understand what kind of
chaotic development approach this guy has!
