Correction 2: radeontool arguments are different than listed above, hence the
above fix does not work.
Instead, add
radeontool dac off
radeontool light off
to the end of /etc/acpi/prepare.sh and
radeontool light on
radeontool dac on
right after the line beginning with # at the beginning of /etc/acpi/resume.sh
