Comment 21 for bug 8050

I don't like relying on the installer for this; it causes problems when new
hardware is added after installation. The situation with network interfaces is
not ideal for this reason.

For example, some wireless cards are (were?) not usable in the installer, but
were usable in the installed system, making this a common occurrence.

I think the udev solution sounds great. Can someone explain how this mechanism
works, or provide pointers to such information, so that we can start
implementing it?
