Subject: kernel-headers-2.4.27-1-k7: cannot 'hdparm -d1 /dev/hda' with 2.4.27-1-k7
 kernel which worked with 2.4.26-1-k7

Package: kernel-headers-2.4.27-1-k7
Version: 2.4.27-1
Severity: normal

With the 2.4.26-1-k7 kernel and the via82cxxx modules insmod-ed, I was
able to to 'hdparm -d1 /dev/hda', but with the 2.4.27-1-k7 this no
longers work and fails with a

  HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted

which I also had on 2.4.26-1-kt *without* the via82cxxx module.

Some info I hope is usefull:

For both cases the same hdparm version was used, and only the kernel
