Hello I don't think it is included in upstream 2.6.8-rc4, neither in 2.6.8. but the ACPI staff has released a new revision that resolves this issue among others: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-kernel&m=109246673924042&w=2

hopefully this patch is also available against 2.6.7, I'm currently running it and it works well. ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/lenb/acpi/patches/release/2.6.7/ (20040326 has to be applied before 20040715)
