I would like to add that neither suspend or hibernate work currently on my IBM T60 running 6.10 -- it was an upgrade from 6.04 and running kernel 2.6.15-27-686 which had suspend and hibernate working pretty well.
Currently I am running kernel 2.6.17-10-generic -- if I try to hibernate through gnome, the screen turns black with just a cursor for about 20 seconds, and then returns to a locked X screen as if I had just resumed it from hibernation.
I tried the above adjustments from Simon Rönnqvist but they didn't change anything apparently. This is a pretty serious bug for a laptop! Please help Ubuntu kernel team! :)
