It gets worse. I disconnected all HDDs from the 2100s, I removed the card from the server, I connected them to the onboard SCSI adapter - Ubuntu 5.10 installs fine & works.

I then re-inserted the 2100s (without any HDD connected to it) - Boom - crash at startup.

It cannot digest it at all, even without any HDD connected to it.
