Installed the kernel on a (kubuntu) install, and it worked for me -- sort of. The kernel sets at "loading ramdisk" for a loooonish (tm) time. It takes much longer to load than reasonable, but it does.

Once it loads, it appears to jump straight to gdm/kdm/etc; skiping any initrd/bootsplash messages. I'm guessing that it isn't actualy hanging at the 'ramdisk' line, but rather, it stops printing output until X11 kicks in.

Also, booting with "Linux debug" still doesn't seem to work for me. But hey, it's progress.
