Ubuntu does not include the broadcom driver for differing reasons. To get that card work, just
sudo apt-get install bcm43xx-fwcutter
The 2.6.21 kernel seems to have additional options for powermac thermal, or perhaps an updated driver? I do not have one of these machines to test. Ubuntu should have included these critical thermal modules in the kernel to avoid this.
Are you able to load the windfarm modules manually? What happens when you type
sudo modprobe therm-pm72
sudo modprobe windfarm
