Hi,

I have some new comments on the bug.
As adviced, I started the loading uing the PCI=usepirqmask.
Now the install runs fine (BTW could not in such a case this option be added
and the process be restarted?)

I also noticed something strange. After the messages
Preparing for live
  ... Creating user
more disk activity, with nothing on the screen, for about a minute.
At that point I noticed on the LCD screen that the battery charge changed,
and noticed that on the wall I did not switch the AC on. Now I switched it on on
the wall
and the istall immediately continued with
   Configuring panel
(the only dissonant message was
cat: /var/lib/misc/pcmcia-scheme: no such file,
in addition to the former FATAL messages I mentioned in my previous report.)

Then, it started to assemble the login panel, even I saw some icons on the
screen created.
Then, the screen cleared, the cursor visible, heavy disk activity, no screen
activity.
Lasting for several minutes. The cursor cannot be immediately moved with the cursor,
I guess the driver is swapped out (?). After the movement, I have to wait for 5
secs,
and if I start to move it, it moves smootly.
However, due to the continous swapping nothing can be done.

I have only 64M RAM, I know it is not too much, but I expected that at least the
desktop
with no activity shall be seen. Am I wrong?

To summarize: Yes, the usepirqmask helped, the live system installs itself,
but finds the HW config too small(?), so it is not usable.
The system is so heavily loaded that to change to text mode takes about a minute.

I note that after this I also tried SuSE Linux 8.1 live.
It finds and installs eveything, but when about to start the graphic desktop,
nothing happens (even does not swap :) ).
Maybe simply the present linux is not able to run on the 64M memory I have?
Or maybe it is just the effect of the 'live' CD and I shall try to install a
real one?

Thanks

Janos
