Groovy 20.10 has reached EOL, and so has the HWE kernel in Focal 20.04 based on the 5.8 kernel. Could you please update the HWE kernel to the latest 5.11-based version (5.11.0-25.27~20.04.1) and check whether the problem persists? The easiest way is to update the hwe meta package (likely linux-generic-hwe-20.04).
