It looks like https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-5.8/+bug/1934647 is about the same. Here it's Intel UHD Graphics 620 - there it's about nvidia.

5.8.0-55 is fine
5.8.0-63 is affected
5.11.0-25 is affected

Using 5.8.0-63 (or 5.11.0-25) the internal display is black - but the system is running "normal" (ssh, HDMI display)
