Comment 47 for bug 287244

I'm confused, and it hasn't worked. Installed 64 bit Intrepid from the alternate cd fine. I then rebooted ok, but I didn't have 32 bit, so I used 32 bit Hardy to boot LiveCD which worked, blacklisted ath_pci in modprobe.d/blacklist and rebooted, it didn't work, or am I meant to install the linux-backports thing during the liveCD session? I got as far as Alex's step 12. Rebooted fine and bang...trace threw itself up again.
Same problem really...64 bit will NOT boot, even after blacklisting ath_pci so I assume that's not the problem. Help please!
