DaveAbrahams: Sorry if my wording was vague -- suspend/resume absolutely does not work for me under compiz without your scripts. I just tested again to be sure.
To summarize and clarify, here were my results with suspend/resume using fglrx and compiz:
- Default Hardy state (no scripts, no fusion-icon): can suspend, but screen is helplessly blank on resume. Can't change virtual terminals, restarting X server (ctrl-alt-bksp) doesn't fix it.
- With the PM scripts from this bug: suspends & resumes safely, but borders are gone and keyboard is unresponsive. By using mouse to restart compiz, things are back to normal.
- With PM scripts & fusion icon: everything perfect.
