It *seemed* to only happen with the flashplugin-nonfree package installed.
I added 'Option "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps"' to my xorg.conf file and I HAVE NOT been able to reproduce this issue. It seems to have solved the issue I was having that looked similar to this.
