We also have this bug on 2 computers. One using ATI open source drivers, and the other with open source nvidia, both with compiz.
This bug occurs while we try to hide Firefox. To reproduce, we try to show/hide it repeatedly. If CPU is working a lot (with flash animations for example), it seems to occur more often.
After re-logging, gnome doesn't work properly (some applets broken until a complete reboot).
