nvidia-glx is a suggested package in l-r-m's dependencies. They could
(should?) depend on their identical version kernel-module package, as far as
I understand it. As I said, this would indeed be something challenging (to
stay polite :-) ) for the maintainer(s).
However, the ugly restricted-manager hack I posted somewhile ago, combined
with the information in the 2 outside threads mentioned allows me to have
compiz running days on end without any hardlock on the laptop. Should this
information be combined and posted somewhere on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ ?
