It would be more useful to know whether suspend works when you aren't running the NVIDIA binary driver as that will indicate whether the issue lies with the binary driver. Typically, you will need to disable graphics card POSTing when using the binary driver (see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NvidiaLaptopBinaryDriverSuspend ). Depending on your system and card you may find that disabling the default agpgart and using NvAGP is also required to solve the problem... However such issues really aren't a part of this particular bug.
