Doesn't seem to be running, so I can't disable it. Also, the symptoms in bug 109643 are different:
* I get syslog messages, they don't.
* My mouse pointer still works, theirs doesn't.
* My screen looks fine, theirs is garbled.
* They are on Feisty, I can't upgrade from Edgy because of bug 108098
