I have the impression that the trigger is not (only) an incoming chat message but audio output. This problem also occurs when I call a contact.
Does not happen everytime. It works fine after starting Skype. But when Skype sits around idle for a long enough time this happens with a very high chance.
Switching from OSS to ALSA (in Skype) doesn't make a difference - still the same problem.
I am using a mostly vanilla 2.6.17.6 kernel (with the exception of the Suspend2 patches). The kernel config however is based on the config used in Ubuntu.
It seems that this problem provides users of a system with the possibilty to DOS the system - especially if someone is able to isolate the cause of the problem. I would therefore suggest to treat this problem as a critical problem.
