Bug Description

I was hoping this package would give me full access to my ntfs partition via nautilus, but I can't figure out how it is supposed to work. There is no readme in /usr/share/doc/libntfs-gnomevfs and nothing obvious seems to work. There is no /etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/ntfs-module.conf file, so I doubt this package could work at all.

Any enlightenments?

Is this still a problem with Ubuntu Dapper?

Yes, it's still a problem. The manpages are also woefully out of date and reference programs such as test-xfer that are long gone. I wanted to simply access the data on the drive using nautilus or even gnomevfs-ls and friends.

I'm happy to use fuse, but I believe if a package is in the archive, it should do something!

I think libntfs-gnomevfs might as well be dumped from the archive since it really doesn't provide anything aside from confusion on the part of anyone that might install it.

The migration to gvfs obviates this package; we should add a note to its Description in debian/control to note as much.
