2023-01-19 03:11:10 Arjun Krishnan description When upgrading from 5.11.0-44 to any 5.13 or 5.15.0-5x kernel, loading the amdgpu module causes a kernel panic on boot. If I uninstall the linux-modules-extra package or blacklist the amdgpu module in modprobe.d, then I am able to boot. The kernel panic messages scroll a bit too fast for me to capture the output during boot. ``` Description: Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS Release: 20.04 ``` ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: linux-modules-extra-5.15.0-58-generic (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.11.0-44.48~20.04.2-generic 5.11.22 Uname: Linux 5.11.0-44-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: zfs zunicode zavl icp zcommon znvpair ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.24 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip Date: Wed Jan 18 22:06:59 2023 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US TERM=rxvt-unicode-256color PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: linux-hwe-5.15 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) When upgrading from 5.11.0-44 to any 5.13 or 5.15.0-5x kernel, loading the amdgpu module causes a kernel panic on boot.
