Against my wishes I've updated to 17.10 along with the kernel and drivers that come with it.
And it still fails. Works for a few minutes then goes permanently to a "Device not ready" until the next reboot.
But now it's even worse because it also trashes every single other wifi device I have. When that one fails, my Ralink 802.11g WLAN also becomes "Device not ready". And my Realtek 802.11n WLAN Adapter also becomes "Device not ready"
However, running dmesg gives a completely different reading:
"iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 Could not load the [0] uCode section"
"iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 Failed to start INIT ucode: -5"
"iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 Failed to run INIT ucode: -5"

So...what? Now the drivers are broken?
