Hi Dennis,

Thank you so very much. On my new Acer R5-471T-52EE, your solution fixed the WiFI problem!!!

I have Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS, I upgraded kernel to "4.2.0-21-generic" and then followed your solution exactly. The dmesg also showed me the following messages

Despite failure to find file "firmware-5.bin" I was able to get wifi properly for the first time on my ubuntu.
