We're having instances hanging throughout the day (https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=68692) and it looks like it may be related to this.

Looking at your comment (#53) I wanted to apply the changes you mentioned, but I need some help on how to install them. I'm familiar with apt-get install, etc, but I'm not sure what I need to do to use the packages you prepared.

Would you let me know how I can do that?
