SRU Justification

Impact:

Microsoft has requested that the 5.15 backport from the upstream maintainer (Steve French) be included in Jammy linux-azure. These patches upgrade CIFS to the same level as Linux v6.8.

Regression Potential:

Regressions could include failure to connect, DNS resolution failures, dropped connections, etc. However, Microsoft has tested these patches extensively since January 2024.
