Please: look at first into /etc/lilo.conf: is there a line "boot=" and
a line "root="? Then check the images at the end of this file. Are there
images? And to which files the images will be linked?
The next step could be: download and install the newest lilo package of
Ubuntu (upstream version 24.1) which should solve many problems with
liloconfig. Then try again liloconfig.
