I was bitten by this issue several times already. It affects me when I want to use an ISO image I have stored in my NAS server, via nfs for example. Since root is squashed, libvirt fails to change the ownership and thus fails to launch the VM. I have to then copy it over to my laptop and then tell libvirt to use that one, which it can chown/chmod to its heart content.

I thought I had filed a bug about this already, maybe against virt-manager, but couldn't find it.

I'll take a look at the dynamic ownership setting.
