I am a virt-manager and OVMF user and I think that the patch proposed and present in recent versions don't fix the issue here. In particular, virt-aa-helper allows to load firmware from /usr/share/ovmf/, while virt-manager's and libvirt's default path is /usr/share/OVMF. Fixing this path manually in /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf fixed the issue for me, however I feel that virt-aa-helper should allow both paths as valid. Note that the ovmf package installs in both, /usr/share/ovmf being for the united image and /usr/share/OVMF for the split CODE/VARS
