Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Reassigning from libusb-1.0 to dpkg. The libusb-1.0 package was just one out of several packages that dpkg failed on:

dpkg: error processing package libgd3:i386 (--configure):
package libgd3:i386 is already installed and configured
dpkg: error processing package libltdl7:i386 (--configure):
package libltdl7:i386 is already installed and configured
dpkg: error processing package libusb-1.0-0:i386 (--configure):
package libusb-1.0-0:i386 is already installed and configured

Seems like an issue in the 32->64 bit transition and probably not an issue in supported versions of Ubuntu.

affects: libusb-1.0 (Ubuntu) → dpkg (Ubuntu)
Changed in dpkg (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete
