Reassigning from libusb-1.0 to dpkg. The libusb-1.0 package was just one out of several packages that dpkg failed on:
dpkg: error processing package libgd3:i386 (--configure): package libgd3:i386 is already installed and configured dpkg: error processing package libltdl7:i386 (--configure): package libltdl7:i386 is already installed and configured dpkg: error processing package libusb-1.0-0:i386 (--configure): package libusb-1.0-0:i386 is already installed and configured
Seems like an issue in the 32->64 bit transition and probably not an issue in supported versions of Ubuntu.
