With last kernel and modules update (2.6.24.29-generic) I don't get the following messages anymore:
[ 266.266778] psmouse.c: GlidePoint at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 2 bytes away.
[ 269.718340] psmouse.c: resync failed, issuing reconnect request
[ 271.968398] input: PS/2 Mouse as /devices/virtual/input/input25
[ 272.045379] input: AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint as /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input26
No more kernel panics either.
But after being a while ( 10-20 seconds) without using it and with no cord plugged there is a strange high CPU usage for about 3 seconds and the pc seems to be hanged. Even playing music starts making noise. This behavior isn't new but is the only symptom that still occur on my laptop.
