This may be so because the desktop entries are not translated to Bengali yet.
Could the Bengali team provide translations via the Ubuntu Wiki, as detailed here[1]?

I think this is a problem with the deciphering the correct unicode format of
the data. A person experienced with unicode should look over the associated
code.

We (ankur.org.bd) have had translated libreoffice upstream at https://translations.documentfoundation.org/bn/

use this package http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?type=deb-x86&lang=bn&version=3.5.2; this will render perfect Bengali not the boxes.

Hi,

Rather than suggesting users to install an external package (which the
immense majority of users won't be able to do), could you point us to
the issue your package fixes, so that it can be addressed in the Ubuntu
package too for the benefit of all users?
