Bug Description

Binary package hint: libreoffice

1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 11.10
Release: 11.10

2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-draw
libreoffice-draw:
  Installed: 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2
  Candidate: 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What is expected to happen in LibreOffice Draw via the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/785397/+attachment/2136185/+files/MyNet.odg && lodraw -nologo MyNet.odg

scroll left and right or up and down and it does so quickly and successfully.

4) What happens instead is it is sluggish and slow (if fit to width, goes up an inch every few seconds).

WORKAROUND: Export to .png and reopen.

ORIGINAL REPORTER COMMENTS: This same Libre Office Draw document opened under Windows 7 has absolutely no problem related to CPU usage and I can scroll it and work with it normally.
I am using Libre Office 3.3.2.

I forgot to point out that I have the problem only on PC's with UNITY 3D, on a VM with UNITY 2D I do not have this problem.

Carla Sella, this issue is confirmed in Ubuntu 11.04 (non-Unity), LibreOffice Draw via the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/785397/+attachment/2136185/+files/MyNet.odg && lodraw -nologo MyNet.odg

Fit-to-Page view scrolling up and down was very sluggish. As a workaround, if one exports the file to .png and opens it in Draw, it's snappy scrolling.

If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

A draw document used to draw network configuration

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. open attached document (MyNet.odg)
2. try to scroll it up and down

Current behavior:
It's very slow and screen on Ubuntu 11.10 (it also happened on Ubuntu 11.04) goes gray for a while, it turns normal but scolling is sluggigh

Expected behavior:
Normal scrolling of document up and down and sideways

Platform (if different from the browser):
Ubuntu 11.04 and Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1

This used to happen also with Libre Office 3.3.2.

This same Libre Office Draw document opened under Windows 7 has absolutely no problem related to CPU usage and I can scroll it and work with it normally.

I have already reported a bug on launchpad:
