Bug Description

Binary package hint: libreoffice

When trying to go fullscreen in LO Writer (ctrl+shift+j) the window goes fullscreen beneath the left and top unity bars. Furthermore, a java program written using java exlusive fullscreen mode has a similar problem - it shows up with a maximized size but not actually maximized (the title bar doesn't combine with the unity panel). This was not a bug in Maverick.

Well, the menu would become unaccessible otherwise.
@unity-devs: Any idea on how to cover this scenario well?

The menu should NOT be accessible. If I were watching a fullscreen movie, I would not want access to the Unity bar. The same goes for an office application in fullscreen as well as Java games using the fullscreen exclusive mode.

Workaround: Install compiz-plugins-extra and compizconfig-settings-manager. Open ccsm and go to "Extra WM Actions." Map Toggle Fullscreen to something you will remember and use it to bring a program into fullscreen with unity (I use SUPER+G)

I find clicking in the main window makes the panel disappear.

This seems to be fixed on trunk.

This is not fixed in 11.10

I do question the severity of this as it pretty much renders many apps very badly and partly off the screen.
