Temporary fix until bug is solved:

Removing the "Recent Documents" from the File Menu temporarily fixes this issue so you don't have to clear the menu all the time. This is obviously not a real fix, but it gets people back to work:

Tools > Customize

Choose Menu > "File"

Select "Recent Documents" and click "Modify" on the right pull down and choose "Delete"
