I have just tried it with the LO 4.1.0.4-packages of OpenSUSE 12.3 64bit rpm (downloaded from OpenSUSE).
Had a table with 2 columns and 36 rows in the mainform and a table 31 columns and 9000 rows in the subform. When I change the row in the mainform the data in the subform appear immediately.
So I can't confirm this bug. I can't test the original LO 4.* together with ODBC, because LO will shutdown immediately when the connection should be enabled (see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65830 )
