Removing libcanberra-gtk-module helps too. Although if GTK application started from shell it now prints messages like this:
$ gvim Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module" Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
But things are improved now considerably. I can use desktop for work, again.
