For me the same - but work-around using "friendly recovery" (root prompt)
apt-get remove ubuntu-desktop libcanberra-gnome gnome-session-canberra apt-get -f install
The second command-line finished the upgrade and you may use your system as usually, You can use the "dpkg"-option instead the "root"-option the for the second comand!
