This is easy to reproduce in a jammy lxd container.

$ lxc launch ubuntu:jammy j
$ lxc shell j
# sed -i 's#"$OUTFILE.key" 2>/dev/null#"$OUTFILE.key"#g' /usr/sbin/mellon_create_metadata
