I am experiencing this bug since upgrade to 12.04.
Besides the shipped version 0.8.18.1, I tried leafpad versions 0.8.16 and 0.8.18: same results.
Btw: CLI only functions work, like leafpad --version, leafpad --help, so it seems GTK related...
