I can confirm the problem. Same thing here with a similar setup. I described the problem before at:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lcdproc/+bug/194093

Though I'm not sure, if it really caused 100% CPU usage. This bug-report here is probably more accurate.
