This seems to be stil in 10.04 also in Gtk version, see my screenshot below.
I think what developers did, was that they have split the string, however they have not made first part of string able to support plurals [1].
I have reported this as bug to update-manager [2] and also changed the name of this bug as it is not affecting only KDE.
