I checked my "/var/lib/locales/supported.d/local".
It contains these two lines:

  en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
  eo ISO-8859-3

The last line should not be there at all (as far as I understand).
Instead we should probably have:

  en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
  eo_XX.UTF-8 UTF-8
