The fix, as Nvidia expects, is for all OpenGL apps and desktop environments to add support for https://www.khronos.org/registry/OpenGL/extensions/NV/NV_robustness_video_memory_purge.txt

Also there's bug 1894627 tracking the same issue in Chrome/Chromium.
