Comment 3 for bug 411077

As of Kubuntu 9.10, Kubuntu is using the new Grub 2. Unfortunately, kubuntu-grub-splashimages does not work with Grub 2 and nobody has stepped up to maintain it. Since it does not work and is unmaintained, kubuntu-grub-splashimages has been removed from Kubuntu for Kubuntu 9.10 and up. This sadly means that further bugfixes will not be made.
